Move the top oven rack to within 6 to 8 inches below the broiler. Preheat the broiler. Place skewers of chicken on a broiler pan or baking pan. Carefully transfer pan to oven rack. Broil until the chicken has reached the desired doneness, 5 to 10 minutes. Remove the chicken skewers from the oven to a plate and cover with foil while broiling the tomato skewers for 2 to 3 minutes.
